SAKURA 2013

The season of the cherry blossoms visited the Japanese archipelago this year too. Nordic & Japan will also introduce the cherry blossoms of Tokyo.
When spring comes a lot of Japanese people enjoy their beloved cherry blossoms. From below the trees they watch the cherry blossoms together with family, friends, and lovers.
The history of ohanami (cherry blossom-viewing) is old and began about 1200 years ago. The cherry tree only blossoms for a short time, and once it has reached full bloom, its leaves will shortly scatter. This transience is also a part of the cherry blossom's charm. On the cherry blossom whose leaves have scattered, young leaves will start to grow and you can feel the beginning of new lives.

箱根仙石原 Sengokuhara

In the town of Hakone, in Kanagawa Prefecture, beautiful sights of Susuki grass can be found at the Sengokuhara fields. Hakone is located about one hour from Tokyo, and the town is famous for its hot springs. In the autumn, you can enjoy the view of the golden grass. You can also see a slight glance of the Mount Fuji while walking around in the fields.
